New Need For Speed FAQ Reveals DLC, Micro Transaction, and Frame Rate News

By   /   Sep 14, 2015

While PC owners may be disappointed by the delay in release on their platform it also shows a commitment to delivering a quality product for PC. Today a new FAQ has been released that answers questions on the PC release and also reveals a few other details.

One of the most important things to all players will be what DLC and micro transactions will be released. This at least gives players some warning as to how much money the game will try to take from us after our initial purchase. It appears though that things are positive on this front:

Q) Will there be paid DLC?

A) We plan to release a series of free content updates for Need for Speed. We currently have no plans for any paid DLC.

Q) Will there be micro transactions?

A) There will be no micro transactions.”

So straight to the point, which there are planned DLC releases this will be free content. That obviously won’t include any pre-order incentives of course. On the subject of micro transactions the simple answer is no. I’m sure we also welcome that news and hopefully it won’t be changed in the future.

On Framerate, we already know the PC will not be restricted. Xbox One and Playstation 4 though will be locked at 30fps:

“For any driving game a steady frame rate is incredibly important, and with Need for Speed we’re delivering super high production values when it comes to both visuals and sound – as can be seen in our pre-alpha footage of the game. We always look to maximize the game technology with the platform technology for the experience we’re building, which is why the game will run at 30fps on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.”

Does the 30fps lock on frame rate for the consoles disappoint you? Let us know your thoughts below.
