Square Enix to Release Life is Strange in Japan

By   /   Sep 9, 2015

DONTNOD Entertainment’s hit game, Life is Strange may be nearing an end with the final chapter coming soon, but in Japan it looks like gamers will be getting a localised version of the game. Today we get to see the trailer featuring the voice cast who will be dubbing the game.

If you’ve played Life is Strange you’ll probably agree that it feels weird watching the upbeat launch trailer, especially when you know what is waiting for new players experiencing the game for the first time. While we can’t really say much about the story as that would ruin the fun, it is fair to say Life is Strange has become a hit.

French Developers DONTNOD Entertainment were best known for their work on Remember Me, but after selling over one million copies of Life is Strange worldwide, it’s become one of the most talked about games of the year. Well received with critics and fans alike, the game has taken what Telltale Games do well and given the adventure game a fresher feel.

When released in Japan the main character Max Caulfield will be voiced by Kumi Tanaka, and voice actress Lynn will play the part of Chloe Price. It will be interesting to see if the game has to undergo any changes other than the vocal work for the release

While the first episode, titled Chrysalis has yet to be given an official release date it is also interesting to notice that at the end of the trailer we only see Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PC mentioned on the release. This may mean that Xbox One and Xbox 360 may not be getting the release in Japan for some reason. We’ll have to keep an eye on that to see just why this may be.
