First Images from The Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone DLC
Earlier today the teaser trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC Hearts of Stone was released and now we have some images from the game. They reveal a returning character, as well as one of the strange creatures we’ll encounter.
While the teaser itself doesn’t give too much away, Geralt does appear to be in a dire situation. Help may come in the form of Shani, a returning character who we’ve experienced in the previous Witcher games. Hints were given in Wild hunt that Shani was around when Geralt meets a doctor who mentions knowing Shani from Oxenfurt Academy.
From what we know in The Witcher 3 she was likely to have been working on the front line of the war as a field nurse. This of course will lead to her arrival in the DLC. With Hearts of Stone hinting at a new romance, will this be Shani? As this is not explicitly hinted at in the press release we can’t be sure of this just yet.
Launching October 13 Hearts of Stone will feature over 10 hours of new gameplay and feature a brand new system of Runewords that affect gameplay. In the DLC we will see Geralt hired by a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec who possesses the power of immortality. Promising a story that is crafted by your actions in the game you’ll need to recruit a crew of break-in artists, spend a night partying with a ghost and outsmart bizarre creatures.
Having completed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I do expect to be dipping back into it with this Hearts of Stone as the trailer does its job well to sell the continuation of the game.
