Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Popularity Vote Interim Statistics Show Surprising Results
The Dead or Alive series is often looked down on for its depiction of women, but many see it as an on running joke of the games. In a poll that Koei Tecmo are holding in the run up to the Tokyo Game Show, they are letting gamers choose which heroines will be included in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.
The company have released the results so far, and they may surprise some:
- Marie Rose: 17.1%
- Honoka: 14.8%
- Kasumi:_ 11.5%
- Ayane: 9.2%
- Kokoro: 8.3%
- Nyotengu: 7.2%
- Hitomi: 6.4%
- Momoji: 4.9%
- Leifang: 4.6%
- Elena: 4.2%
- Tina: 3.9%
- Mila: 3.0%
- Rachel: 1.7%
- Lisa: 1.7%
- Christie: 1.7%
As you can see Marie Rose is easily in the lead, and what is surprising about this is in a game that has a focus on how well endowed the women are, and she is the least. Is this something of a protest vote? Or is it she is just the most popular character. Make of it what you will, but at least she looks the most realistic of the bunch.
With these being the interim votes, as mentioned the final results will be revealed at the Tokyo Games Show. If you have a favourite who is under 10th place you better get voting. The last five will not be in the game.
I’m not sure if we should read anything into the fact that the less outrageous of the female fighters has made it to the top spot. We could probably see it as a good sign, though really it is pointless to spend too much thought on this.
This is a vote for the fans of the game, for who they want to see in it. I’m sure the rest of us can forget about it and move on to other things.
