Divinity: Original Sin 2 Achieves $1 Million and Adds Racial Skills

By   /   Aug 31, 2015

As you’ll likely know, Divinity: Original Sin 2 reached its $500,000 goal in only 12 hours. Now they are working their way through the stretch goals in impressive form.

Just looking at their Kickstarter campaign, they’ve already unlocked three. Today you can view probably the geekiest Kickstarter update video ever, which reveals that Racial Skills will now be included in the game. This was the third stretch goal, the other two being Strategist Mode and Pick a Skill Tree 1.

To reach the third stretch goal, this has meant that fans have added $1,000,000 to the fund. To fully include all stretch goals this will mean a total of $1,500,000 will have to be met. This will add Undead Origins, Pick a Skill Tree 2, and The Hall of Echoes.

Obviously, it is quite likely that these stretch goals will be met, especially with 29 days still to go. At the time of writing the total amount pledged is $1,062,222 and unless there is a sudden downturn in the number of pledges, it looks like the stretch goals will also be met.

What this success shows is the popularity of the original Divinity: Original Sin game, and now its sequel. Hopefully with the success Larian Studios LLC have had in the campaign will mean that Divinity Original Sin 2 will be able to reach its full potential, and the fans get the game they want.

It is obvious that the foundations for the game are already in place, now it has the extra budget it needs; it is up to the developers to deliver on their promises.

Are you looking forward to Divinity: Original Sin 2? Did you back its Kickstarter campaign? Let us know your thoughts below.
