Mortal Kombat X PS3 and Xbox 360 Versions Cancelled by Warner Bros.
After being asked to wait until the release of the game on the current generation of consoles, and being asked to wait further for a long time, the Xbox 360 and PS3 fans of Mortal Kombat X have been told now that they will not get the game on their consoles, ever.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the publishers announced the “regrettable” decision very recently saying that they have worked hard on the last generation version of the game but the expected quality could not be achieved.
They say they are very sorry for the cancellation:
After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.
This brings up the question of refunds for those who preordered Mortal Kombat X for either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. You guys will need to go to the retailers where you pre-ordered and ask for a refund which will be provided promptly.
Do you think it is a good decision to simply cancel a game instead of releasing a substandard or broken product?
