MGS V: The Phantom Pain Xbox One vs PS4 is a Close Fight
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is just days away from official release, review embargo has been lifted, giving us near perfect scores all around. Gameplay is great, story is awesome and it looks like a perfect ending to this long running franchise.
However, technical aspects of the game weren’t touched upon in detail in reviews, but fans would surely like to know how things are in this regard.
The title released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in addition to other platforms. Of course, PS4 version of the game was going to be compared with Xbox One, because we can not live on without debating over PS4 vs Xbox One.
Testing of the game revealed that the PlayStation 4 version is ahead of the Xbox One, in terms of resolution. The title runs at smooth 1080p. On the other hand, the Xbox One runs at 900p but it holds its own against PS4 version. While both games run at 60Fps, during certain cutscenes, frame rate of MGS V on PS4 drops to 30-40+Fps.
However, Xbox One maintains 50ish during cutscenes. Still, in direct comparisons PS4 version is ahead. In the end, it was a close match.
Xbox One has come along way because of if you remember, Ground Zeroes ran at 720p on Xbox One; and now it is at 900p and is holding its own very well.
