Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V beta is kicking-off tomorrow at 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT and surely, you’re bodies and souls are ready by now. However, there is stuff you need to know about the beta before you jump-in.

So let’s get right to it.

Of course, you would like to know about its duration. The beta will last for 5 days, meaning it will end on September 2, 7AM PDT / 7PM EDT. The client is 1.4GB in size and players will able to take control of 6 characters, including Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammy, and Birdie.

Yes, it is a closed beta, don’t expect local play as it is being held to test the netcode etc. Capcom has three betas planned for Street Fighter V, before the game hits shelves in 2016.

You can keep the client after the first beta ends on Sept. 2, and access it again when the second beta kicks-off.

Like I mentioned, this is a closed beta, so in order to get-in you’ll have to pre-order the game in North America. However, in some other regions you can register to get a beta code from Capcom.

In addition to netcode, the beta will test out the game’s content delivery system. Due to this very reason, you won’t be able to play as Cammy and Birdie right off the bat.

Both of these characters will be added to the beta later on.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to play against your friends and you can not search for players online. Matchmaking is completely random.

Also, the stage will be chosen at random, Bustling Side Street (China), Terminal Station (London), or Forgotten Waterfall (New Zealand).

Streamers won’t be able to use PS4’s Share feature to stream the game, however, external equipment can be used to for this purpose.

You will need PS+ membership to play.
