Game Accidently Confirm Shovel Knight is Getting His Own Amiibo

By   /   Aug 27, 2015

Yesterday we discussed the possibility of Shovel Knight becoming a character on Super Smash Bros. as well as getting his own Amiibo. It looks like one part of the rumour has been confirmed.

Today, one of the Game Twitter accounts appear to have revealed that the Amiibo is in fact on its way. Though the tweet was removed soon after posting, NintendoLife were quick to get a screenshot:

shovel-knight-amiiboLooking at the information in the tweet, Shovel Knight’s Amiibo will be coming November 27, and will be compatible with “Nintendo products that Yacht Club Games creates in the future!” no word on Super Smash Bros. yet, but with this confirmation accidently getting out, does this mean that another announcement is soon to come?

With the removal of the tweet, we can’t be sure when “tomorrow” will be now for people wanting to put down their £5 deposit to purchase the Amiibo. I’m sure that another announcement will come in the future, maybe from Yacht Club Games, or Nintendo themselves, which will then allow Game and other retailers to start advertising the Amiibo officially.

With the timing of the leak, could this mean that we’ll see something about Shovel Knight and the Amiibo at PAX? We’ll have to keep a close eye on the event which is taking place over the weekend to see if there are any reveals.

In respect to the Super Smash Bros. reveal one thing to notice is there is no logo on the packaging shown in the tweet, so no clues as to if any truth will come from that rumour. I’m sure many Super Smash Bros. fans will have their fingers crossed for that one.

Are you looking forward to the Shovel Knight Amiibo? Let us know your thoughts below.
