Xbox Live Gold Subscribers can try EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour for Free

If you are wanting to try EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour on the Xbox One for free now may be the time. The only requirement appears to be that you have to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.

Today on Reddit, Xbox One users are reporting that an advertisement has appeared on the dashboard offering a free trial of the game for Gold subscribers. While it lets some people have it, others who have tried the game already on EA Access appear to not have the opportunity. This appears to be because it is the same trial game which offers 10 hours of gameplay to gamers.

EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour hasn’t been the most successful of the golfing series, with some of the new features being seemingly out of place with a game like this. A trial like this is the perfect chance for people interested in the game to give it a try, especially with the hefty price tag that it comes with.

While sports games use cover stars to promote their games, it’s a shame that Rory McIlroy hasn’t seem to have the same impact as Tiger Woods did when it comes to the game. It may not be the golfer’s fault of course, rather the lacklustre way that EA Sports have handled the game.

Maybe they need to go back to the drawing board on this and come back with a much more impressive release that refocuses on the most important thing about the game itself and that is golf.

Will you try EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour if a free trial is available? Are you a fan of the game? Let us know your thoughts below.
