Madden NFL 16 Draft Champions Guide – Key Formations, Draft Targets, Tips

By   /   Aug 25, 2015

Draft Champions is a free-to-play game mode in Madden NFL 16. The game mode revolves around selecting a coach, accessing playbooks and team styles against CPU or H2H with another player.

You will need to draft 15 rounds of players before they starting to play and earn rewards for each win.

Madden NFL 16 Draft Champions Mode

After starting off, you access a roster with players having around 65-70 overall rating. Each of these players have unique strengths as well as weaknesses so you need to utilize them to the best of their abilities if they make the line-up.

You need to understand at which positions you need elite talent and which positions to leave until a real challenge comes up.

Another thing to understand is collecting items and seeing how much style an item adds to your team. Moreover, you need to place players in their proper positions to get the boost.

Once the draft is complete, check your line-up and things like coaching, uniforms, and stadiums. You can also use the ‘compare items’ option to check players’ abilities and see who complements your team’s play style.

As a general rule of thumb, you need to target your opponent’s weak positions and put your best talent against their weaker one – they will do the same which is what makes it interesting.

Lastly, the mode tracks your wins and losses, but do not be disheartened by the losses. In addition to this, racking up more wins earns better rewards.

General Tips and Strategies

Although there is no way to see which players will appear, it is crucial to know about your play style and what type of team you wish to build.

After setting up your squad, ensure that every player is on the optimal position and double-check their strengths and weaknesses which will help you alot. There is no denying that your players have weaknesses, but you should always focus on bringing out their best talents and get them in good positions.

Sometimes, some players will make better plays despite their ratings and natural position. It is a good idea to test things to a certain extent and swap the positions if you notice some improvements.

Lastly, there is a huge depth to Draft Champions Mode so make sure to relax and enjoy the mode with all the information at your disposal – it will come around eventually.
