Do You Want to Have Destiny on PC? Is it Worth It?

We discuss what it would be like to have Bungie’s Destiny on PC.

Bungie’s Destiny has been subjected to a lot of criticism ever since its launch back in September last year. There is no doubt that Activision managed to create a lot of hype prior to the game’s launch, but once it got released; we witnessed mixed reactions from the once over-hyped fans.

There were some utterly disappointed from what they received and some fairly satisfied with Bungie’s newest endeavor.

PC version of Destiny has always been a hot debate with users both favoring and against it. The debate got even more boiled up with a recent job listing stating that Bungie is looking for a PC compatibility tester.

While it does not confirm that the game is indeed headed to PC, it does seem like Bungie is looking to bring something for PC gamers – maybe Destiny’s sequel.

There is no denying that porting Destiny to PC will make easy money for both Bungie and Activision, but on a personal level, I believe it is a little too late to port the game now.

Bungie already has its hands full with the upcoming The Taken King expansion and should be spending its resources and manpower on a sequel – which I think is going to be announced somewhere down the road.

I, for one, also believe that Destiny’s original concept was pretty promising; only restricted by the limitation imposed by last-gen hardware i.e. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. If the game was originally made for PC and current-gen consoles i.e. Xbox One and Playstation 4, the entire MMO experience offered by it would have been a totally different story.

Maybe the reason as to why Activision decided not to launch on PC is because of the fate experienced by Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall. I think it’s extremely hard to penetrate a market dominated by the likes of World of Warcraft, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and other PC exclusive MMOs.

Destiny is fun no doubt – at least for the first month – but lacks when it comes to interesting content.

I still remember a meme circulating around the internet reading that one side-quest in CDPR’s The Witcher III: Wild Hunt has more story than the entirety of Destiny which is certainly true to some extent. As for other aspects, I have faith that PC modding community will render it into a better game if it ever launches on PC.

Lastly, if I was to wish for a PC version of Destiny, I would love to see cross-play with the console versions or at least have the ability to transfer my saves.

Do you think it is too late for Destiny to arrive on PC even if Bungie decides to throw expanded content such as the upcoming The Taken King expansion? Will you play it on PC? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments section below!
