Having several visual enhancements and new gamplay mechanics, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is now available on Steam.

According to game director Hajime Tabata, the PC version helped him realize his original vision of the game.

In addition to some welcome additions, there are some minor issues which can be sorted out with quick workarounds provided below. Moreover, Square Enix is also planning to roll out patches to fix certain in-game issues.

#1 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Controllers or GamePads not Working
Download x360ce and place it in the WIN\ subdirectory of the game folder. Create the ‘DLL’ by running it and set up the controller. Once done, exit x360ce and rename xinput1_3.dll to xinput 9_1_0.dll – even if you do not see ‘.DLL’.

If you come across a crash, open up x360ce, select Game Settings, and add ‘fftype0hd.exe’. Moreover, ensure that ‘COM’, ‘DI’, and ‘PIDVID’ and checked for the game profile; VID should be 1118 and PID 654.

You can also allow ‘ForceFeedback Pass Through’ in Advanced Settings of the Controller Tab.

#2 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Unresponsive Launcher on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10
If you are constantly hitting play, open up Control Panel and selecting Time and Date. After it, change the date and hour and change to Calender tab. Once there, select the Numbers tab and write ‘.’ instead of ‘,’ for the decimal.

#3 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – SLI Support
Those who are wondering about the SLI configuration, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD does not support SLI. And to be honest, you do not even need SLI unless you are on a laptop with old GPUs in SLI.

#4 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Pre-Order Bonuses
In order to acquire your pre-order bonuses, you need to open up regular DOTA client and the items should automatically appear in your backpack.

#5 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – 32-Bit Windows
Fans who are trying to run the game on 32-bit OS are out of luck because as the game’s official system requirements mention, you need a 64-bit OS to play the game.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Poor Performance; Horrible FPS
Those of you who are experiencing poor performance while you can easily run games like The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Grand Theft Auto V, try turning off gSync and downgrading Anti-Aliasing one point than the highest or turning it off.

#6 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – 16:10 Resolution
As of this instant, there is no way to change the resolution to 1440 x 900 and you will have choose between 720p and 1080p. If there is any fix that you are aware of, let us know in the comments section below.

#7 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Changing Settings from the Launcher
While the launcher is open, use the arrow keys to access the Settings Menu where you will be able to change resolution, textures, shadows, AA, SSAO, Motion Blur, DoF, and more settings.

#8 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – Out of Sync Audio
In case you have a 120 Hz monitor and run your desktop at 120 Hz, you will experience out of sync audio in the cut-scenes. In order to fix it, you need to set it to 60 Hz which will fix the audio.
