Amazon Game Trade-in Program to be Closed in the UK
According to a new announcement from Amazon, the retailer will soon put an end to game trade-in program. The program will be axed starting August 31 in United Kingdom.
Users will be able to submit trade-ins even on August 31, but not afterwards. The company wrote in a post:
You can submit trade-in items as normal up to and including 31 August 2015. No Trade-In orders can be submitted online after the closure date. Please ensure your trade-in items are dispatched within 7 days after your submission. Trade-Ins sent after this time will not be accepted by us and will be returned to your address. Please note trade-in submissions sent via Royal Mail may take up to 6 business days to arrive before your submission is processed.
Amazon Gift Cards you got after trading in games will remain valid even after the closure of the trade-in program. Trade-ins submitted before or on August 31 will be processed normally as well.
Trade-in program not only deals with games, but with books and other items as well. This closure means that users won’t be able to trade-in other items as well.
This, however, does not apply to the website’s marketplace which you can still use to sell or trade-in items freely.
