FIFA 16 Beta: How to Avoid Data Corruption on the PS4 Version
Electronic Arts has received several complaints of FIFA 16 Beta getting corrupted during the download on the Playstation 4.
According to Electronic Arts; the download data gets corrupted if the PS4 units enter Sleep Mode which is used by many to save energy. EA has come up with a fix which involves leaving a PS4 unit running in Normal Mode and increasing the time until PS4 turns off from the Power Save Settings in the Main Settings of the console:
There is a possibility that the beta download may become corrupt if the PS4 enters rest/sleep mode.
Here’s what to do:
- You should not enter rest mode by pressing the power button on the system or by pressing the PS button on the controller and selecting rest mode
- You should ensure your Power Save Settings [Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Time Until PS4 Turns Off > General (Applications)] allow sufficient time for the download to complete or is set to Do Not Turn Off
- If the issue is encountered, hold the power button on the system until it turns off [do not tap it] then turn it back on
Following the steps provided above will hopefully fix the FIFA 16 Beta download getting corrupt issues on the PS4. If you are still experiencing any issues, make sure to let us know and we will get back to you!
FIFA 16 is scheduled to release on Sept. 22, 2015 for PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
