Konami Vs Kojima: Both Parties Will “Figure It Out,” Says EA’s Peter Moore
Issues between Kojima and Konami are rumored for a while, and evidence suggest that Kojima will leave the company after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release. However, Kojima and Konami aren’t outright saying this in public.
Surely, if Kojima leaves, many publishers/developers will through money to hire Kojima-san. Recently, EA’s Peter Moore was asked if his employer is interested in hiring Hideo Kojima, Moore said that it’s best that Kojima and Konami kiss and make-up.
I’ve always liked Kojima-san. I got on with him during my days at Microsoft. I just think… what’s going on there… I just think both of them should kiss and make up.
From my experience, and I’ve spent a lot of time working in Japan, I think that Konami and Kojima will figure it out. Those kinds of business relationships [in Japan] are typically for life, and Kojima is such an important part in what has gone on there.
Honestly, I would love to see Kojima and Konami sort things out. But even if he leaves, I think Kojima should form his own studio and not work for anyone else, be his own Boss and have all the creative freedom he needs to develop his next masterpiece.
Do think Kojima and Konami should sort things out? Let us know what you guys feel about this in the comments.
