Rime Stays Playstation 4 Exclusive after Sizzle Reel Mistake

By   /   Aug 14, 2015

When Eurogamer Portugal released an Unreal Engine Sizzle Reel video from Gamescom 2015 a game was featured which raised a few questions. Not much has been seen of Rime since it was last demonstrated about a year ago, but as you can see it has appeared on the video.

As a Sizzle Reel it is not that much of a surprise that an in-development game would appear, but it is what platforms it is releasing on which caused some interest. Marked as a Playstation 4 and Xbox One release, this made fans raise a few questions on Twitter.

What puzzled gamers was the fact that Microsoft had in fact passed the game up, though they may regret that decision now. As you can see from the reply above though, this is still a Playstation 4 exclusive.

Rime is a game that takes place on a strange island with a sinister secret. You play the character of a boy who must use his wits and ingenuity to survive and ultimately escape from it.

It’s obvious that Eurogamer Portugal have simply made a mistake in the video stating that it would be coming out for the Xbox One too, and this game remains a Playstation 4 exclusive. This will of course disappoint Xbox One owners who may have thought that this hinted at a change the release restrictions, and may have hinted that they may get the game too.

With the release date for Rime not yet confirmed we’re still waiting to see when the game will finally get a release.

What are your thoughts on this mistake? Could it be hinting that an Xbox One version could come in the future, even with the denial? Let us know your thoughts below.
