Phil Spencer Wants More Developers to Utilize Xbox One Cloud-Based Tech

By   /   1 year ago

The head of Microsoft’s Xbox Division Phil Spencer would like more third-party developers to use cloud-based technology; recently used in the upcoming Xbox One exclusive Crackdown.

In response to a fan on Twitter; Spencer said that he would like to see more third-party developers picking up the technology:

I hope so, I’d like to see 3rd parties pick up the tech as well. Innovation moves more quickly as more games push what’s possible.

The said technology is currently being utilized by the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, Crackdown. Using the technology, players will be able to demolish an entire city. However, one thing to be kept in mind is that the technology is only available for the multiplayer component of the game and does not work for offline singleplayer mode.

Despite that, it will be interesting to see how developers will utilize the technology and incorporate it in their future games. I personally hope to see more Xbox One exclusives using the tech.

Do you think the cloud-based technology will change the way we experience video games? Tell us what you think in the comments section below!
