By   /   Aug 10, 2015

If you are a wrestling fan, you tend to have fond memories of your favourite games based on the sports entertainment phenomenon. In recent years though, memories of the good games have been nostalgia based on the past.

With WWE 2K15 there was hope that the “next generation” of wrestling games would bring in a revolution to the games style, if anything it felt like it had lost its direction. Now we await WWE 2K16 and hope for yet another improvement.

Today IGN have revealed some names that will be on the games roster, these are:

  • Booker T
  • Colonel Mustafa
  • Emma
  • Eva Marie
  • General Adnan
  • Kalisto
  • Kane
  • Lord Steven Regal
  • Sin Cara
  • Summer Rae
  • Tamina
  • Triple H

These names are added to the already revealed:

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin
  • Seth Rollins
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Dean Ambrose
  • Bad News Barrett
  • Paige
  • Finn Bálor

This reveals 19 of the 120 characters that will be playable in the game. This is an impressive number and just looking at the ones above there are a nice mixture of WWE and NXT fighters. A favourite will obviously be new wrestlers such as Finn Bálor the current NXT champion, who has been well received by the fans.

IGN will be revealing more wrestlers ever Monday, so be sure and keep an eye out for updates. Along with the names, they also revealed an entrance video for Kalisto. After watching it, it does appear to be an early development video, as it need a little brushing up in terms of visuals and audio presentation.

Fans of wrestling games will be looking forward to getting some meatier videos that show some gameplay footage, even maybe demonstrations that show the updates to the engine. This release really has to impress the fans, or we may find them tiring of the wrestling games. If this is not already happening.

Are you a fan of these games? Are you looking forward to WWE 2K16? Let us know your thoughts below.
