Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to have Optional Boss Fights and Permanent Consequences
The upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will render player choices more impactful and it will be upto players whether they wish to engage in boss battles or not.
In an interview with Siliconera; Deus Ex: Mankind Divided producer Stephen Roy said that in the upcoming game there will be choices and permanent consequences. Roy said that in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, there were not any consequences since players could save the game at the end and view all endings which will not work in Mankind Divided:
I guarantee with this one when you play each decision you’re going to make will have an impact and you won’t be able to cheat. If somebody has to die think twice before making your choice.
Speaking of debates and boss battles, Roy said that the game will not force players to have a boss fight. Unlike Human Revolution, Mankind Divided will not force players to engage in boss fights while they are playing the game in stealth mode:
Debates, the social boss fights, are still in there. But, let’s say you like to play stealth. I won’t force you to have a boss fight. You can avoid boss fights. If you want to play like this, please do it. The boss fights were kind of a paradox in Human Revolution. I was forcing you to play aggressive while you spent most of the game in stealth. Now, you won’t have that kind of paradox anymore.
Roy also talked about new gadgets, locations, enemies, and different types of confrontation. To find out more, check out the complete interview!
Scheduled to release sometime in 2016, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will launch on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
