Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Gameplay has Evolved
While Deus Ex: Mankind Divided may have not been shown at any press conferences at Gamescom 2015, it still had a presence at the event. In a live Twitch stream, an interview with game director Patrick Fortier has revealed some details on how the gameplay has evolved.
In the interview Fortier explains that the main character Adam Jensen has now become to embrace his mechanically augmented body and the controls for the game also reflect this. A focus now is on improving targeting speed, triggering augmentation, and finding cover. An importance with this is to make the system feel more fluid for the player as they control the character. Which will be important with the battles that he has to face.
In the Twitch Stream we got to see some gameplay footage, and it was interesting to hear how Adam Jensen’s role in society has changed. Now more of an outcast to both sides of society because of his neutral stance, he will face attack from both naturals and the augmented.
In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided sees Jensen return as the main character after the Panchaea Incident which occurred in the first game. With the human race now more against the augmented than ever, terrorist groups look to cause tension between the two groups. With the augmented being persecuted globally Jensen has to deal with these terrorist groups demanding augmented equality as well as the shadowy interests of the Illuminati who are using the tensions for their own gains.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, with a release window of sometime in the first half of 2016.
