Destiny: The Taken King to Feature Class-Specific Weapons, End-Game Mode, and More

By   /   1 year ago

Destiny’s upcoming expansion The Taken King will offer various different ways to interact with many familiar faces on the Tower.

Speaking to IGN at Gamescom 2015; Bungie Community Manager David ‘Deej’ Dague that The Taken King will offer class-specific weapons to players.

Some of the weapons, however, will require players to perform various tasks for the Vanguard instead of being available as ‘Random Loot’. Moreover, players will be able to ‘pledge allegiance’ to a faction and complete certain tasks to earn specific rewards unlike wearing faction-specific items.

Contrary to the previous report; Bungie is not entirely doing away with the Light System in the game and will retain it to determine the strength of players’ Guardian. Deej has confirmed that a player’s Light Level will be based on your total attack and defense statistics. Moreover, there will be some quests which will require specific Light Level.

Lastly, Bungie confirmed a new end-game mode called Court of Oryx which is a player-instigated public event that will pit players against different combinations of different bosses in different scenarios.

The Taken King is scheduled to release on Sept. 15, 2015 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
