Final Fantasy XV Director Sheds Light on the Game’s Story Elements
Square Enix recently released a new Final Fantasy XV trailer that emphasizes on the game’s story elements. Since the trailer left quite a few questions unanswered; the game’s director, Hajime Tabata thought it was a good time to share something with the fans.
Speaking with Game Informer; Tabata confirmed that the trailer is set 15 years before the events of Final Fantasy XV. He also confirmed that all the footage in the trailer is in-game and real time.
Coming to the game story, Tabata said that although the game focuses on Noctis and his friends’ journey; the relationship between Noctis and his father is also a big pillar of the storyline.
According to Tabata, interpersonal bonds is a main theme of the game and as shown in the art – attached below – you can see Noctis, his dad, and their car – which apparently belonged to Noctis’ dad:
That’s sort of the metaphor representing the relationship between Noctis and his father through the car.
Moreover, Tabata also confirmed that fans will experience Noctis’ past in flashbacks and the dog and mysterious girl shown in the trailer are a part of the game’s narrative:
That dog actually plays a really big part in the events that take place a little later in their lives – after the young-man phase.
As for the mysterious girl, Tabata has confirmed that she is Luna; Noctis’ childhood friend and a character much stronger than Stella:
She’s a much stronger, more determined character. She’s got her own willpower and objectives that she acts upon. In some ways, Noctis is the weaker character. Maybe he’s the one who’s going to need protecting.
In case you skipped the trailer, I have attached it to the top of the post!
Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. We do not have a concrete release date as of this instant.
