Elite: Dangerous Gets a New Expansion Pack Called Horizons; Priced at $60
Elite: Dangerous is scheduled to receive an expansive expansion pack which will add new content and new adventures to the game. The developer Frontier has announced a ‘season of gameplay expansion’ dubbed as Horizons.
According to Frontier; the expansion pack will include new add-on called Planetary Landings which will let players explore various planets and moons in search of minerals, signals, and so much more. Players will be able to use new Surface Recon Vehicle called the Scarab and use it to, ‘explore, mine and engage hostile forces as they attempt to infiltrate strongholds guarding valuable rewards.’
In addition to this, Frontier has also promised that it will, ‘continue to introduce new features and gameplay as the season continues into 2016 [which will include] new activities and new ways to play.’
Do not get too excited! According to Frontier, the only way to buy Horizons is with a new bundle containing the expansion called Elite Dangerous: Horizons for full $59.99. There is no way to buy the standalone expansion pack, but the existing players will be able to net a $14.99 discount, a Cobra Mk IV, and the ability to retain all their progress.
Elite: Dangerous Horizons expansion pack is scheduled to release sometime during 2015 holiday season. You can also check out the official trailer attached above!
