Gamescom 2015: Star Wars Battlefront Fighter Squadron Mode Details
As expected EA has brought us a full reveal of Star Wars Battlefront’s Fighter Squadron Mode. The new mode supports 20-player multiplayer and features some of the most intense aerial combat sequences.
According to new details, players can take control of X-Wings, A-Wings, TIE-Fighters and Millennium Falcon as well. To make things more interesting, apart from 20 players on the map, there are going to be 20 AI fighters on the map as well.
That’s not all, Boba Fett’s iconic Slave I ship will also be playable in Star Wars Battlefront. Gameplay footage shown during the event, showed Rebel Alliance hunt down an Imperial transport, while the Imperials were tasked to protect the ship and take down the rebels.
Each ship is provided with its own abilities, A-Wing has its homing-missiles for instance.
Fighter Squadron mode was announced yesterday by EA on Twitter. The mode is a welcome addition and will surely add more to the overall Star Wars experience.
EA said it has more to show before the release of the game, so we can expect more news in the coming weeks. Star Wars Battlefront will hit shelves on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
