Could The Walking Dead be Coming to Wii U?
Game pages often appear on retail sites that shouldn’t be there, and are often hinting at a pending unannounced but planned releases. Today an interesting game has been added for the Wii U to the Game website that may raise quite a few eyebrows.
As you can see the page is for “The Walking Dead Combo Pack (Season 1 GOTY & Season 2).” Why is this interesting? This would be a sign that Telltale Games are looking to release their games on the Wii U.
If The Walking Dead is making its way to Wii U, this will be another more adult game that Nintendo are looking to release. I’m sure Wii U owners will start forming a list in their minds of what else they will bring to the console.
The next one on the list would probably be The Wolf Among Us, while Tales from the Borderlands is probably another, Wii U users may not be as familiar with the Borderlands universe. There is also Game of Thrones of course, which will always be a popular choice.
If Nintendo are allowing these games to be released, there is some logic in this. The Wii U should be able to handle these games and it would allow Telltale to extend their exposure to more fans. This would be a potential win-win situation.
While it may seem strange to put a horror-based game on Wii U, we should remember that the console is no stranger to them. It is sometimes assumed that this is Nintendo’s console aimed at a more family orientated audience, but this isn’t the case. The release of Devil’s Third on the console is proof of that.
Do you think this page on Game’s site is a sign that Telltale are moving their games to the Wii U? Let us know your thoughts below.
