By   /   Aug 4, 2015

Fans of Trine will be happy to hear the news about the latest edition of the game. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will be leaving Steam Early Access on August 20.

By putting the game onto Steam’s Early Access scheme the game developer Frozenbyte have allowed gamers to help them with the development of the game. Not only buying the game early, users were able to give the company feedback on what they were doing right, and what they were doing wrong.

Early Access has proven a success for many games, with many thriving through the process. Trine 3 looks to be one of the many success stories that has made it to full release.

On heading towards the official release, Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen had this to say:

“I’d like to thank everyone who bought the game during Early Access. We couldn’t have done it without your support and feedback, and we’re extremely excited to present the finished game on August 20th!”

Initially at the price of $19.99 on Early Access, the price will rise to $21.99 upon official release. This will also include the soundtrack that was created for the game by Ari Pulkkinen.

Trine was originally made popular by its mix of puzzle and platform game dynamics, focusing on three characters who had to work together to make it through the levels.

In Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief return to continue their adventure. Frozenbyte will now concentrate on a Linux and Mac release with a console version coming in the future.
