Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain chapter 3

With the revelation that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is now being released alongside the console versions on September 1 for the PC we also have the specifications required to run the game. Not surprisingly, you will need a powerful rig to run this one.

The system requirements have been revealed on the official Steam Page and looking at the Minimum Specifications, the game is going to work the CPU hard while the GPU requirements only ask for a moderately powerful card:

  • OS: Windows 7×64, Windows 8×64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Recommended Specifications:

  • OS: Windows 7×64, Windows 8×64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (DirectX 11 graphic card required)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1)

As always these specs could be liberal, to make sure that people can’t complain if their computer does not run at least at minimum requirements. As any PC owner knows though even if our rig does not meet these numbers, we’ll still give it a try to see just what the performance is like.

Also worth notice is the pre-order incentives on Steam, these include:

  • Digital copy of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes
  • Emblem “VENOM SNAKE”
  • Mother Base Staff 3
  • Collector’s Video

If you already own Ground Zeroes this will be giftable to others.

Does your PC meet the requirements to run Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain? If not, will you still try to get it to run? Let us know your thoughts below.
