Final Fantasy XII

Contrary to what fans were lead to believe; we will not hear anything related to Final Fantasy XII remake on Gamescom 2015 – in fact no such remake is in the development.

The Producer of Distant Worlds, Arnie Roth, has clarified his original statement stating that his earlier statement was regarding the Final Fantasy XII concert arrangements and not about a remake of the game.

According to Roth, during the conversation with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding the new concert arrangements of music from Final Fantasy XII, the term ‘remake’ was used as an error which has been rectified. He also apologized for the confusion caused by his statement. Here is what Roth had to say on Distant Worlds Facebook Page:

Dear friends,

In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy concert in Pittsburgh.

Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from Final Fantasy XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.

We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused.

Arnie Roth
Producer and Music Director
Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy

The announcement of a possible remaster was originally made by Arnie Roth at Distant Worlds in Pittsburgh.
