In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Someone has Redeveloped Playable Version of Silent Hills P.T.
Update: You can also download the playable version for Mac, Linux, and Microsoft Windows from Itch.
Farhan Qureshi, an aspiring video game developer has recreated Silent Hills P.T. which is almost indistinguishable from the original.
According to Qureshi, he started off by taking a whole lot of reference pictures using Playstation 4 share feature and uploading them to a dummy Twitter account. After this, he used a combination of various filters and borrowed P.T. textures from different online sources to recreate the in-game hallway.
Qureshi eventually ended up with a playable version of Silent Hills P.T. which includes a number of key elements from the original version.
Speaking of the project, here is what Qureshi had to say:
I started this project for a 3D modelling workshop I’m planning to teach in September. The workshop will focus on teaching the fundamentals of modelling, texturing, animation, and materials, and applying these skills by creating a 3D scene. Originally I wanted to create an apartment scene for its simplicity, variety, and familiarity, but I wanted something more game-focused as the workshop is being targetted at the Calgary Game Developers.
The playable version is also available for download, but due to overwhelming response, the DropBox account – on which the version is available – has temporarilyy been disabled. We will make sure to let you know in case of another upload.
