The speed at which Sony is selling (or at least shipping) PlayStation 4 units out to the whole world is amazing. While the Xbox One gets dips in the demand every now and then only to come up with better sales than PS4 once in a couple of months, Sony is counting millions like numbers!

It was revealed recently through the financial reports published by the Japanese company that they have shipped a total of 25.3 million units worldwide.

This came out alongside a detailed breakdown of the shipments that shows an increased number of console being shipped in the first quarter of FY2015/16 i.e. three million in just the three months.

In comparison with the corresponding quarter for FY2014/15 this is 300,000 units more.

If you check out the complete break down since the console launch it tells you that Sony shipped 4.5 million in the quarter after launch, followed by 3 million, 2.7 million, 3.3 million, 6.4 million, 2.4 million and finally 3.0 million in the last quarter.

Oh and if you check out a sales chart provided by ZhugeEX (below) it shows that Microsoft is no where to be seen at least in the very near future because PlayStation 4 is shipping double than Xbox One, more than Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and even PlayStation 2!

As you can see, the only console that sold more than PlayStation 4 in the chart is the Wii. So yeah, Sony basically made themselves a money printing machine!
