During E3 2015, Bethesda showed a great deal of its upcoming iconic shooter, DOOM.

The game will release on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One with cutting-edge visuals and state-of-the-art technology. Despite all these changes, long-term fans of the franchise took no time in identifying the game’s fearful monsters, iconic weapons, and how these things evolved over 22 years.

Signature weapons such as Super Shotgun, BFG, and Chainsaw have already made it to the game. As for hellish demons and monsters, following images outline how they evolved over the course of time:

There are still a range of monsters that we have yet to come across, but it is nice to see how the game is sticking to its roots and bringing a nostalgic appeal for its long-term fans. In related DOOM news, during Bethesda’s Quakecon 2015 event, the studio confirmed that the game will run at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second across both consoles which is definitely welcome news for gamers. To read up, head over to the post!

DOOM is scheduled to hit the store shelves sometime next year for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
