Fallout 4 Developer Has Made “a s**tload of Pip-Boys,” Won’t Be Making More
Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition sold like hot cakes, Bethesda has made “a s**tload of Pip-Boys,” but won’t be making more of them. Meaning if you were hoping for a re-stock, you’re out of luck.
Bethesda says that they have reached factory limit and can’t make more Fallout 4 Pip Boy Editions. Marketing VP Pete Hines said:
They’re being made today, it’s not like they’re done and sitting in a warehouse. [The factories would tell us,] this is what the yields say. I mean, we don’t make [the Pip-Boy Editions], and we’d go back to [the factories] and say, ‘Demand for this is insane, we’ve got to make more.’ And they’d move other projects off or shift stuff to other factories and it just came to [them telling Bethesda], ‘Final answer: sorry, this is as many as we can make.’ And we sold every single one of those that we could.
Hines says that people may think they only did a few thousand of these editions, however, they have done more of these than any other collector’s edition ever before.
Fallout 4 Pip Boy featured a replica of Pipboy device, that was able to accommodate your smartphone. A special case and a poster was also included in the package. Pip Boy Edition was priced at $120 but it is being sold on Ebay for over $300.
If you’re a hardcore Fallout fan and really want to get your hands on the Collector’s Edition, Ebay is your best bet right now; but you’ll have to spend more then double the money which is really not recommended.
