Ten Hollywood Superstars Who Appeared In Video Games

10 Superstars from Hollywood who appeared in video games, and showed us how it's done.

We live in a time and age where it is hard to tell the difference between a movie and a video game. Things were simpler when we used to jump to catch running mushrooms in Super Mario, or kill demons in the original Doom.

But now, games are mega blockbusters with millions of dollars in budget at developers’ disposal, to create a masterpiece.

Not only did video games are now big enough to influence films, plenty of movie stars lend their voice and likeness to different video games.

Below is a list of a few Hollywood superstars who appeared in some of the most popular games like Fallout, Skyrim and more.

Liam Neeson In Fallout 3

Liam Neeson

The star who gave us films like Taken, Schindler’s List and more, appeared in one of the biggest video game franchises to date, Fallout.

The third installment of the game released back in 2008, featured Liam Neeson, who voiced James, the father of the Lone Wanderer.

Speaking about this character, Executive Producer Todd Howard went on to say that: “This role was written with Liam in mind, and provides the dramatic tone for the entire game.”

He was indeed the right choice for this role.

Patrick Stewart in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart aka Professor Charles Xavier from the original X-Men trilogy, appeared in the 2007 release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim.

The famous actor was awarded as he won the Best Performance by a Human Male, as Emperor Uriel Septim VII, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Sean Bean In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Sean Bean

Elder Scrolls IV not only hosted Patrick Stewart, but Sean Bean was also a part of it. The actor is known for his roles in Goldeneye, Lord of the Rings and the highly popular Tv adaption of “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels, Game of Thrones.

Bean played the role of Martin Septim, an illegitimate son of Emperor Uriel Septim VII, and was the last Emperor of the Septim Dynasty.

Ray Liotta In Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Ray Liotta

Grand Theft Auto Vice City featured Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti. The character is probably the most popular in GTA and to this day, fans want to see him comeback to Grand Theft Auto.

If he does, we hope Liotta plays the role once again.

Kiefer Sutherland in Call of Duty: World at War

Kiefer Sutherland

It is no secret that Kiefer Sutherland is playing Big Boss in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. However, how many of you knew that the actor also played Corporal Roebuck in Call of Duty: World at War?

He did an exceptional job as Roebuck, and from what we have seen so far from MGS V, he’s doing justice with the role of Big Boss.

Michael Madsen In Grand Theft Auto III

Michael Madsen

Michael Madsen is no stranger to lending his voice to video game characters. He appeared as Toni Cipriani in Grand Theft Auto III, the character is like a homage to another fictional character named Tony Soprano. Madsen’s voice acting made Toni a memorable character from Grand Theft Auto.

Michelle Rodriguez In Driver 3

Michelle Rodriguez

Famous for her role as Letty in Fast and Furious films, Michelle Rodriguez also appeared in Driver 3. She voiced Carlita who runs a crime ring and is a pretty nasty character. Michelle Rodriguez proved to be the right choice for this character.

While Driver might pretty much be dead, Rodriguez’s performance in Driver 3 will always be remembered.

Samuel L. Jackson In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Samuel L. Jackson

If you wish to deliver line such as “we could shit on you from such a height, you’ll think God himself has crapped on you,” you’ll require special kind talent, so who better than the great Samuel L. Jackson?

Jackson played Officer Frank Tenpenny, a crooked cop who brought in cocaine to San Andreas and loved to frame those who stood in his way.

Samuel L. Jackson’s performance was top-notch and it’s one of the reasons we love San Andreas.

Gary Oldman in Call of Duty WAW and Black Ops

Gary Oldman

One of the most memorable COD characters is Sgt. Reznov, who appeared in Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops. The character was played by non-other than Gary Oldman, who played roles like Commissioner Gordon in Batman films, and who can forget his performance as Dracula in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Danny Trejo In Fallout: New Vegas

Danny Trejo

Popular for his psychotic performance in Machete, Danny Trejo played Raul the Ghoul in Fallout: new Vegas. Trejo did good and he definitely should appear in more video games. Preferably, in roles of psychotic killers.
