The release of new weapons for the Call of Duty games can be a complicated thing. With Xbox One getting the releases first, the PC and Playstation 4 have a waiting game till the release comes their way.

Sledgehammer Games have announced that the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Royalty weapons are finally available for Playstation 4 and PC after the initial release to Xbox One last month. The second set of Royalty Elite weapons are available now in both Regular and Advanced Supply Drops on all three consoles.

There are ten Royalty Weapons available, which can be seen in the image below:

These weapons won’t be available to Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 users, Sledgehammer Games had this to say about the previous generation consoles:

“PLEASE NOTE: These Elite weapons are only available on the current generation of consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4) and PC. We are dedicated to providing a wide variety of content to all AW players wherever possible, but in some cases are unable to include additional content on the previous gen consoles due to hardware limitations.”

It is a shame that the previous console “limitations” are becoming an issue with updates like these for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and this will no doubt annoy some players who chose to stick to their older consoles for a little longer.

As the progress of console gaming moves on though, most have made that move to the more powerful Xbox One, Playstation 4, and in some cases PC. It will be interesting to see if these update restrictions will also limit previous consoles when it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
