Gameplay Footage Reveals Wii U Exclusive Devil’s Third to be Underwhelming
When THQ went down, many games became victims of the company’s closure. Some were lucky to be picked up by another publisher, as is the case with Devil’s Third, a game from Tomonobu Itagaki the developer of Ninja Gaiden.
The fact that it was picked up by Nintendo as an exclusive for their flagship console Wii U was somewhat of a surprise because of the level of violence the game depicts.
With a release for the game coming soon, gameplay footage has been revealed, with a whole host being shown on AllGamesBeta. Unfortunately this is less than impressive, especially when compared to Ninja Gaiden.
This could be down to the development hell the game has been through, especially the fact it is aimed at the Wii U. It ends up feeling like a game aimed more at the Playstation 2 rather than a console even close to this generation.
Wii U does see violent games releases and to be fair they often feel like a refreshing chance from the fluffiness that Nintendo often provide. Devil’s Third feels like a game that has been lost in time and lost on the wrong console. Something of an oddity it may end up being a cult hit at most.
Looking at games it is going up against, with the likes of Grand Theft Auto V, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and others, characters are more fleshed out these days and have more impact. This character just feels a little too simplistic for what gamers expect these days. Even in the past few years
