Lizard Squad, the group behind Christmas 2014 PSN and Xbox Live attacks, had one of their members convicted this week. Julius “zeekill” Kivimaki, the member in question, was convicted for over 50,000 charges of cyber crime.

Julius was also responsible for a bomb threat last Summer, which caused John Smedley’s – former Sony exec and now CEO of Daybreak – flight to land due to security concerns.

However, somehow Julius didn’t get any jail time, but instead received a two year suspended sentence. Meanwhile authorities will monitor his online activities.

Daybreak CEO doesn’t seem to be impressed by this judgement and wants more. He expressed his rage in a series of tweets and said that the teenager’s parents should be held accountable for his actions.

Smedley’s anger is totally justified and I do agree with him on Julian and other members getting what they deserve.

However, going after Julian’s parents in Civil Court? Doesn’t seem like the right thing to do. I doubt going after his parents will make any difference to him or his activities in the future.
