Tekken 7: Official King of Iron Fist Tournament Announced for November
Good news for the fighting games fans! If you are not among guys like us who are still waiting for Tekken 7 to be released on consoles, you would be interested to know that Bandai Namco is starting to take tournaments seriously.
The official King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 has been announced with a prize pool of approximately $82000! The event will be held between November and December this year.
Katsuhiro Harada initially revealed plans for the tournament through his official Twitter profile where he clarified more than once that while this one was going to be arcade only, they do have other tournament plans for the future.
So Bandai Namco is the official organizer, and they have invited Tekken 7 players from Japan. Sadly it appears to be a Japan only competition where the participators are going to come in through different stages first there will be the “Osaka Challenge” and the “Tokyo Challenge.”
This will lead to “Japan Round” and finally usher the best players into the Grand Finale.
The prize money is 10 million Yen which equates to approximately $82000; this will be spread out among the best players although we were not told what ratio it will be divided in.
Bandai Namco has said that the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 will be held at a special venue though name of the venue was not shared.
More details regarding the exact schedule of the matches as well as entry requirements will be shared by the organizers in the coming days on the official website of Tekken 7. Or you could keep an eye out for it in our news section.
