Club Nintendo Discontinued, More on New Program Later

By   /   Jul 2, 2015

Just as we reported back in January, Nintendo has put an end to their loyalty program, Club Nintendo. The program rewarded purchases of Nintendo’s products among other things.

If you check out the now defunct official website of the service you will see a sad Mario announcing the closure, as you can see above:

Club Nintendo has been discontinued. Our heartfelt thanks to our members for your support over the years. Please stay tuned for more information on our new loyalty program.

That being said, Nintendo has also stated that users have until July 31 to redeem the codes they have:

All download codes redeemed from Club Nintendo will expire on July 31, 2015, so please be sure to download your game from the Nintendo eShop before that date.

At the end of the announcement they have also assured that everyone who is entitled to a physical reward will get it not later than September 2015. This will mark the end Club Nintendo in any and all capacities.

That being said, you do not need to worry about Nintendo forgetting to reward its users because a new service is already being worked on as revealed by Nintendo at the time of their partnership with DeNA.

This one is going to be a cross-platform membership service that will incorporate features for Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U and of course the upcoming Nintendo NX.
