Minecraft has achieved yet another monstrous milestone. Mojang’s sandbox builder has now sold more than 20,000,000 copies on the PC, raising its pedestal ever higher amongst the most popular and best video games in history.

The recorded figure was revealed today on the Minecraft stats tracker website. The number does not include the millions of sales Minecraft has achieved on the console and mobile platforms.

Last year in February, Minecraft was reported to have sold around 14 million copies on the PC. Later in the year it announced to have sold itself to Microsoft for a whopping $2.5 billion.

A most valuable decision on Microsoft’s part. The expectation of Minecraft’s continued growth was not overestimated. The game continues to increase its borders every year, and we’ll be probably reading about new milestones later this year.

At E3 2015, Mojang’s Director of Fun, Lydia Winters, took stage to announce a Minecraft game being built specifically for Microsoft’s virtual reality headset. The live demonstration was simply amazing, as we saw the holographic projection raise a whole Minecraft world from a coffee table.
