How to Improve Batman Arkham Knight PC Performance, Rocksteady Responds

By   /   1 year ago

We believe, just like many of you, that Batman Arkham Knight for PC is currently a disappointment – and that includes both Nvidia and AMD users.

However, Rocksteady have come up with an extensive reply to the troubled community’s fairly justified complaints. They have, on the official forums of WB Games, provided users the minimum and recommended graphical settings that will supposedly alleviate the performance by an unknown margin.

Minimum Hardware Specs:

  • Resolution: 1280×720
  • V-Sync: Off
  • Anti-Aliasing: Off
  • Texture Resolution: Low
  • Shadow Quality: Low
  • Level of Detail: Low
  • Interactive Smoke/Fog: Off
  • Interactive Paper Debris: Off
  • Enhanced Rain: Off
  • Enhanced Light Shafts: Off

Recommended Hardware Specs:

  • Resolution: 1920×1080
  • V-Sync: On
  • Anti-Aliasing: On
  • Texture Resolution: Normal
  • Shadow Quality: Normal
  • Level of Detail: Normal
  • Interactive Smoke/Fog: Off
  • Interactive Paper Debris: Off
  • Enhanced Rain: Off
  • Enhanced Light Shafts: Off

Furthermore, AMD users using Rec Spec GPU should not keep shadow quality, level off detail and texture resolution normal, instead keep it at low.

After this, they are suggesting you keep the frame rate locked at 30 FPS, and don’t change anything in the INI files.

Think doing this would fix everything? Actually no, even the Batman Arkham Knight developers say you will still face some known issues which they are apparently working on.

That is not all, Rocksteady have also provided a list of recommendations that are expected to improve your PC performance.

For instance, they suggest you should not use “NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience or AMD’s Gaming Evolved Optimization tools,” but on the other hand GeForce GameReady WHQL Driver version 353.30 and Catalyst 15.6 beta driver for AMD should help.

For AMD users, Eyefinity (multi-monitor) and Crossfire are not supported at the moment but a future update is expected to fix this.

Among other things they are trying to fix in the game is the streaming performance of HDDs but installing the game on SDD type drives gives increased streaming performance.

When running Nvidia SLI, using the NVIDIA Control Panel to set one card as a dedicated PhysX card may improve performance.

Last but not the least, page file sizes should be left as they are – do not edit or disable.

Rocksteady Studios says that they are working diligently on all the Batman Arkham Knight PC issues and hope to get things better soon.

Have you tried any of their recommendations? Please share if you think they are helpful and/ or add anything else you might have noted in the comments section below.
