Fallout 4 Armor Modification, Damage Resistance and More Discussed
We were shown plenty of Fallout 4 during Bethesda’s E3 press-conference and it was everything we hoped for. But We were shown some details that may have passed us by in a rush, without us paying much attention to it.
However, a hardcore Fallout fan managed to gather some tidbits from the E3 footage, regarding the game’s damage system. So lets get to it.
The power armor you’ll be using during Fallout 4 has 3 stats, which you can see under “DMG Resist.” The first one is shield while the second and third are lighting bolt and radiation respectively. At the right you can also see some mods you’ll be using to modify the armor.
Presumably, the lighting bolt stat will protect players from energy attacks, while the shield is for physical damage protection.
In the image above we can see that leather armors also have protection from physical and energy attacks. But stat growth is different.
Other details show that laser guns will inflict energy damage while guns, obviously have physical damage. Interestingly, there is a Plasma Sniper Rifle which can cause both physical and energy damage. However, it seems it depends on how you modify the weapon.
