After Batman Arkham Knight, A Superman Game is Almost Impossible for Now
Getting away from the drama surrounding the PC version of Batman Arkham Knight it feels a more positive move to focus on the console version instead. The final chapter of Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy has arrived and now we turn to the future and think what their next game will be. Truth is of course Rocksteady Studios deserve a holiday before they work on anything new.
Giving the player the ability to play Batman in a fully realized version of Gotham City for the most part the game has been well received by fans and is seen as one of the best Batman games released. Taking place a year after the events in Arkham City, it’s best not to say too much about the storyline so as not to ruin it for people still to play.
Looking to the future though Gamerfitnation caught up with Guy Perkins of Rocksteady Studios to ask him what they want to work on next. What was more interesting was what he said they probably won’t work on:
GamerFitNation’s Antwand asked if there will be a Superman game in the works, but Perkins says that it is almost the impossible game to make.
This is interesting as people may remember the attempts on the Nintendo 64 to do this very thing. What we got was a game that many would rather forget. This does raise the question though, could there be another superhero game in the future?
I’m sure with Superman and Batman doing battle soon in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice there will be at least talk of a new Superman game, if not Justice League. If it can be done in the LEGO games then surely with some planning it could also be achieved by a company like Rocksteady Studios.
What are your thoughts on a Superman game, could one be coming our way in the future? Let us know your thoughts below.
