Fallout Shelter

Population Control is the part and parcel of Fallout: Shelter. More dwellers mean more resources such as drinking water, electricity, accommodation, food, etc.

Fallout Shelter Dwellers

Fallout Shelter operates slow when it comes to accommodating new dwellers. In this guide, I will cover everything you need to know about increasing population, controlling populating, and keeping dwellers happier.

How to Increase Population

One of the easiest methods to do this is to place two dwellers of opposite sex in the living quarters. After a while, the two will get to know and will eventually produce a baby.

Go slow with the pregnancies or you will end up draining all your resources in no time. Always check how much resources you can drain on children and plan things accordingly.

Pregnancy does not affect the regular chores of women, but they will not be able to use weapons and drink. Lastly, do note that male and female in the same record room will start having sex immediately as compared to living quarters.

You can also build a radio room to acquire more dwellers. Every now and then you will receive a call which will introduce you to a new dweller. And you can also receive more dwellers from lunchboxes, though, it isn’t recommended!

How to Keep Dwellers Happy

First things first, why do you need to keep your dwellers happy? In Fallout: Sheler, happiness of a dweller is directly proportional to his or her efficiency which will inturn increase your approval rating and let you net Daily Rewards.

In order to keep a dweller happy, you need to ensure that you assign a job that he or she loves. Moreover, do not have them work too hard!

As soon as you see their happiness dwindle, place them in a recreational spot and let them interact with the members of the opposite sex.

You will come across some dwellers who will be happy to roam in the wasteland – have their wishes fulfilled! And lastly, always keep an eye on their health – always remember that a healthy dweller is a happy dweller!

Family Tree and Dwellers Breeding Data

One important thing to note here is that you cannot go all Jamie Lannister and Cersei Lannister in Fallout: Shelter. Fallout: Shelter does not allow you to be Craster from A Song of Ice and Fire and so you cannot breed with your family members.

Siblings with one blood parent will never breed. It is also important to note that the family line is drawn after three generations.

You can check out the Family Tree and Dwellers Data on how to get unique, rare and legendary dwellers.

How to Revive, Heal and Remove Radiation

A dweller can die if his or her HP reaches zero. In this situation, you can use CAPS to revive a dweller, use Stimpak to heal them, or use RadAway to remove the radiation.

Always focus on completing objectives which will sometime reward you with Lunchboxes. Do note that harder objectives yield better rewards.
