ReCore was announced as an Xbox One exclusive title during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press briefing earlier this week. The announcement carried an intriguing CG trailer with the revelation that it had the legendary creator Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime behind it.

In a following press release, we now have more information on the game.

In ReCore, the player (Joule) is one of the last remaining humans on a planet which is now controlled by robotic entities programmed to destroy all life. As your journey through this mysterious world, you’ll come across various robotic companions that will provide new abilities and power to aid you in your mission.

It’s not clear whether ReCore will feature a party system where you’ll be able to have more than one robot companion at the same time. The press release, though, referred to it as a “Band of Robot Companions,” which could mean we’re going to be leading a party.

Comcept Inc and Armature Studio are “pulling from their collective years of expertise and inspiration from classic action-adventure games,” to provide a fresh gameplay experience full of exploration, adventure and strategic combat.

The all-new IP will boast a beautifully rendered and dynamic world, with mysterious elements and treasures waiting to be uncovered, and dungeons to dive into.

ReCore is currently looking at a release in Spring 2016. The game might appear at Gamescom 2015 in August with gameplay footage.
