Dark Souls 3 Isn’t The Last Game In The Series, Could Go Sci-Fi In The Future
Rest Assured, Dark Souls 3 isn’t the last game in the series but it is a turning point.
Darks Souls 3 was announced at E3 but news of it being the last entry started circulating soon after. The source was a press-release which referred to the game as the “final episode.”
However, Dark Souls 3 isn’t the last game in the series according to game director Hidetaka Miyazaki:
First of all, this is not the final product for the Dark Souls series. However, I believe it’s the turning point for the Dark Souls series. First of all, Dark Souls has a really unique worldview. It’s not a good idea, continuously releasing titles for this series because of that factor.
And this will probably be the turning point of From Software as a whole – it’s the last project we started working on before I became president. It’s basically From Software, they started working on this project when it was an older generation. So it’s a turning point. It’ll be a turning point, but it’s not final.
Miyazaki also spoke about the future of Dark Souls and said sci-fi and Ninja like games is what he would like to explore. Dark Souls going sci-fi? Can’t say I’m not intrigued the idea.
But take this lightly as this is just one of the ideas Miyazaki has in mind, nothing is set in stone. Dark Souls 3 is heading to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in early 2016.
