Square Enix Investing In Premium Mobile Games

Square Enix began its E3 2015 press conference with a new gameplay trailer of Just Cause 3 which was filled to the brim with explosions. Avalanche Studios’ upcoming open world title will release on December 1 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Platinum Games revealed itself to be working on a new Nier sequel exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Yosuke Saito is acting as director, alongside various other big industry names. An accompanying trailer only included concept art, with no actual gameplay footage.

Tomb Raider Go is mobile title similar to the turn-based strategy mechanics of Hitman Go. Square Enix really wants to bolster its mobile games library, and this new addition is in development for iOS and Android phones and tablets.

Yet another mobile title, Kingdom Hearts: Unchained Key, will have its story tie in with Kingdom Hearts 3. In development for both iOS and Android, the game will feature iconic characters from the Disney world, which honestly shouldn’t be a surprise to any fan of the series.

Speaking of which, Kingdom Hearts 3 received a world premiere gameplay footage reveal, featuring Sora and company taking on Heartless in a variety of different environments. The footage also showed off one of the Titans from Hercules, as well as Sora’s Keyblade evolving into dual-pistols and swords.

IO Interactive took stage to reveal a gameplay trailer for the new Hitman game. The video offered a look at the freedom and multiple paths that players can take in order to successfully complete a hit. The game is confirmed to release on December 8 for all platforms.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is said to bring back the old school Japanese RPG experience. The game has already been announced in Japan, but in the west it is now confirmed to arrive in 2016 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided received an extensive gameplay trailer. It partially touched upon the sequel’s story which is set in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution. During the gameplay section, we were treated to a new shock weapon and a shield ability. It is set to release in early 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
