PES has Secured UEFA Champions League License for Another Three Years
In a recent announcement, Konami has revealed that the UEFA Champions League and Europa League will remain exclusive to PES for the next three years.
The exclusivity deal between Konami and UEFA was signed back in 2009 and has been extended to include the upcoming PES 2016.
Thanks to the agreement, PES franchise features the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League competitions both as individual game modes and larger season modes. Moreover, the UEFA Super Cup is featured under the game’s Master League Mode.
The official press release by Konami reads:
“The agreement allows Konami to feature both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League club competitions within its many options, with both featured as individual modes or within the larger season overview upon qualification – with the UEFA Super Cup featured within the iconic Master League mode.”
Yesterday, Konami unveiled that Neymar Jr. will serve as the cover star for its upcoming video game PES 2016 alongside a brief teaser trailer.
The game’s full reveal is expected to go live tomorrow. Make sure to check back for everything on the game.
