Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition Announced, and Darksiders III Teased by Nordic
Nordic Games has today announced a remastered version for Darksiders II called the “Deathinitive Edition.”
The same version was previously confirmed for only the PlayStation 4 (minus the ‘Death-initive’ name) but now has been also announced for the Xbox One. According to the publisher, both versions will launch simultaneously this winter.
The Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition will be running at 1080p native with better lighting, improved character models, and enhanced environmental textures. The game will also come bundled with all previously released DLC. A pricing has yet to be announced by Nordic Games.
The publisher also expressed desire to port the original Darksiders for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and teased a new Darksiders III project.
“Naturally there will be a large-scale project based on Darksiders, but for now it is very important for us to take care of the existing games and make those available to a broader audience,” the company said in a statement. “Bringing Darksiders 2 to current gen was a logical step for us and the team at Gunfire Games know their trade inside-out, so we easily and quickly had lots of ideas that we wanted to realize for this specific edition.”
Darksiders II: The Deathinitive Edition is being worked on by Gunfire Games, which coincidentally is “almost entirely” staffed by the same employees who worked with the original developer Vigil Games on the first Darksiders game.
