PES 2016 will feature the 23-year-old Brazillian forward Neymar da Silva Santo Junior as its cover star, Konami has announced.

The shining star athlete is one of the highest-profile players in the world right now. Neymar Jr. has been part of the Spanish and Champions League-winning Barcelona squad, and has a horde of followers around the globe.

“This is a real honour for me to be cover star for PES 2016,” said Neymar Jr. “The series has long been praised for its sheer level of control and utter realism and I am delighted to be working with such a talented team as Konami.”

While details about PES 2016 are still under wraps, Konami has confirmed that Neymar will be available to use in myClub mode by those who pre-order the game. The myClub mode lets players build their own custom team by purchasing players and managers through either in-game currency or microtransactions. Buying PES 2016 early ensures that Neymar Jr. will be on that team for free.

More details on this and various other aspects have been promised to be revealed at E3 2015 on June 12.
